The opportunity
To optimize user guidance and increase conversion rates for electricity and gas contracts, we redesigned the checkout process for RheinEnergie, a leading german energy provider. My role in this project included User Research, Ideation, and User Testing. The main challenge was creating a seamless, user-centered process that was simple and easy to navigate, despite the backend's need for extensive data collection to calculate the tarif. We closely collaborated with the development to ensure our designs were technically feasible, uncovering and addressing optimization needs in both frontend and backend processes. Through extensive qualitative research and user testing, we developed a streamlined five-step checkout process and supported its implementation with quality assurance to meet user and technical requirements.
